Student Mapping Project Presentations

The David Hall Mineral Exploration Fund

The IAEG are delighted to announce that Joseph Donoghue and Caroline Grant, the first recipients of the The David Hall Mineral Exploration Fund, will each be giving a presentation on their Student Mapping Projects on April 1st at 7 PM.

Caroline and Joseph are both final year undergraduate Geoscience students at Trinity College Dublin. They were each awarded €3,000 by the David Hall Mineral Exploration Fund to assist them with their field mapping projects in the summer of 2024.

Joseph Donoghue will be talking on the topic of "Mapping the Geological History of the Cantabrian Zone" and the project location is Leon, Spain.

Caroline Grant talk's will be about a Geological Survey of the Megara Basin with the project location of Corinth, Greece.

The talks will take place on Tuesday April 1st on-line starting at 7pm.

Registration is open via the IAEG website. Please register in plenty of time to ensure you receive an invite in time.

Please note that the Lecture is a members only event. 

The David Hall Mineral Exploration Fund was established in March 2024 by David Hall’s family, friends, and colleagues as a way of celebrating and continuing David’s passion for mineral exploration; allowing new, young graduate geologists and researchers to have exposure to field-based exploration activity. On behalf of the fund, we would like to thank all those who have contributed to date.
